In popular culture tea is also known as cha or chai has become one of the most common and popular form of recreational beverage. As the name suggests the masala chai has its origin in the Indian sub-continent and has been mentioned in several ancient ayurvedic texts for its medicinal benefits. Since its inception many tea wears and Teapot are also developed.
The traditional use and pattern of consumption of chai was only limited to its medicinal benefits but with the introduction of chai to the Europeans, many new distinct tea cultures have surfaced all over the globe.
It was the Europeans who in order to dismantle the Chinese monopoly over the tea market began tea plantations in India and tea subsequently got popularized all over the globe and became a common recreational beverage of mass appeal.
